Rabbit Card Joins Forces with Mitsubishi Corporation Group, Signing a MoU to Formalise Partnership
Ratchanee Saensinchai, Managing Director of the Bangkok Smartcard System Company Limited (“BSS”), subsidiary of VGI Public Company Limited (“VGI”), the provider of Rabbit Card, and the leading e-money services company in Thailand, together with Shoichi Ogiwara, President of Thai-MC Company Limited, the trading and investment subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, signed a MoU formalising their partnership. By issuing staff ID cards powered by BSS’s Rabbit Card solution, this alliance will raise the health and safety standards, for employees of Mitsubishi Corporation Group and related companies, by promoting contactless and cashless interactions – a crucial drive to push Thailand towards a cashless society and digital transformation.
Mitsubishi Corporation Group and related companies’ employees will be able to conveniently access transit services and make payment at top retailers across the country and use Rabbit Card’s loyalty programme – “Rabbit Rewards” – to enjoy a wide array of personalised flexible benefit and redeem discounts from premium merchants across F&B, retail and travel & lifestyle products and services, which is part of a new style of employee engagement system that incorporates corporate efficiency with personalised rewards. Meanwhile, Rabbit Card can expand its customer reach and subsequently grows its database.
Shoichi Ogiwara, President of Thai-MC Company Limited said, “At Mitsubishi Corporation, not only are we committed to constantly developing technologies to contribute to improving consumers’ lives, we place our employees’ health and well-being at the heart of our operations. Separately, with pain points that many of our group companies have in common, that of increasing HR workloads and necessity to respond to changing and diversifying employee’s needs, we always strive to find innovative solutions to break through such challenges. Through this alliance, we aim to issue Rabbit Card as our staff ID cards across our group companies, to bring greater convenience to our employees. This will enable employees to benefit from Rabbit Card’s exclusive benefits and Rabbit Rewards, while also promoting our employee engagement and improving corporate efficiency at the same time. Moreover, we aim to roll this out in
many Japanese companies, not limited to Mitsubishi Corporation related companies, to increase the benefits for all their employees.”
“We are witnessing rapid change in consumer behaviours, with e-payment gaining tremendous grounds and swiftly replacing cash transactions. In Thailand, we are at the forefront of the move towards a cashless society as seen from our strategy to help our business partners, big and small, reduce their transaction costs and by offering companies to bind their employee cards with the Rabbit Card, which, in turn, has enabled us to grow our users to over 13.6 million to date,” added, Ratchanee Saensinchai, Managing Director of BSS.
