V-Click Technology Ltd (V-Click), Thailand-based marketing technology company connecting consumer brands in Southeast Asia with the vast and rapidly expanding Chinese market, hosted the seminar “China’s Travel Rebound: Unlock the Power of Digital Marketing to Chinese Travelers with the New Visa Policy.” The seminar featured a special session on Short Video Marketing, a crucial tool for attracting Chinese tourists on route to Thailand.

A key seminar session, titled “2023 China Tourism Jump-Start,” was presented by Ms. Claire Hung, Strategy & Operation Senior Manager of Ocean Engine. During her presentation, Ms. Hung provided a comprehensive analysis of the strategies and trends contributing to the revitalization of China’s tourism industry. She also highlighted Douyin’s comprehensive solutions, along with TikTok, the Chinese short-video app, showcasing the success of their Short Video Marketing strategies in expanding brand awareness, driving deeper user engagement, and significantly increasing conversion rates. With over 600 million users spending an average of 67 minutes per day on Douyin, Ms. Hung emphasized its growing importance as a valuable tool for Thai brands looking to attract Chinese tourists.

Meanwhile, Mr. Eric Cheng, Vice President of APAC & EMEA at iClick Interactive, and Ms. Chompoonuch Atipornpanich, Business Director at V-Click Technology, revealed key travel trends among Chinese tourists. They pointed out that Chinese tourists are showing a significant increase in purchasing power, with a 32% rise in spending and an average per-trip expenditure of 54,000 baht, primarily spent on shopping. Furthermore, they presented a case study illustrating how Chinese digital platforms can seamlessly connect Thai brands with Chinese travelers, starting from the moment they book their trip in China, fostering ongoing engagement during and after their journey, leading to increased conversion rates and a deeper level of engagement, rather than just creating brand awareness.

“As trends are forever changing, we have organized this seminar to help brands and marketers in Thailand gain a deeper understanding of Chinese traveler behaviours. We aim to introduce various digital platforms that can assist in unlocking the potential of digital marketing, allowing for the creation of campaigns tailored to meet the specific needs of Chinese tourists, who form a significant target group” noted Mr. Eric Cheng.
